Beware of Scam
There is no fee to enter the DV Lottery. Be cautious of fraudulent entities claiming to improve your chances for a fee. The selection process is random, and no one can influence the outcome.
What if I am from a country that is not eligible?
You may still qualify if your spouse or one of your parents was born in an eligible country. This is known as cross-chargeability.
How many times can I apply?
You can submit one entry per year. Submitting multiple entries will result in disqualification. However, if you are not selected, you can reapply in future lotteries.
How long does the process take if I win?
Selected applicants must complete the visa process by the end of the fiscal year (September 30). If you do not secure a visa by then, your selection becomes invalid.
Does winning the DV Lottery guarantee a green card?
No. Selection gives you the opportunity to apply, but you must still meet eligibility requirements and pass an interview.
